Barbara Louise Hudson was born on December 1, 1933 to Gustava Cheatem and William McDaniel in Swift, Missouri.  She passed away at Community Hospital in Monterey, CA on May 31, 2017.

Barbara loved to read the Bible, religious materials, solving word puzzles and reading the dictionary.  She also loved to travel.

She never went anywhere without her writing material as she loved to write.  She had an opportunity to travel and live in Aschaffenburg, Germany where she lived with Mary and her family for four years.  She also lived for about ten years with her son Charlie Hudson and his family in Carbondale, IL and Lexington, KY.  She spent a year in Kansas City, MO with John and Velma and family.  Her final home was Seaside, CA where she lived with her daughter Mary.

She leaves behind four children, Mary Katheryn Myles of Seaside, CA, Gustava Louise Johnson of Saint Peter, MO, John Edward Hudson, Jr. of Lilbourn, MO and Velma Darlene McDaniel of Seattle, WA.  Fifteen Grandchildren: Jesse Lee Myles III, Katherine Myles, Alicia Ann (Terrance) Gatewood, Kiesher (Tommie) Jefferson, Charlie Lee Hudson, Jr., Al Young, Nneka Okolie, Brian Johnson (Stacy), Krista Johnson, Tiswanna Hudson, Beverly Hudson-Koonce (Christopher), John Edward Hudson IV, Simmone Hudson, Emeka McDaniel and Antonio McDaniel.  Twenty-nine Great Grand​Children: Saniyya, London, and Tiana Gatewood, Charlisa, Alicia and Tommie Jr. Jefferson, Halle Myles, Brandon Orr, Salome, Zynilah, Shanika and Taneka Hudson, Cadeja Davis, Laguasha Davis, Langston Hudson, Lawrance Hudson, Lorenzo Young, Jr. Antwuan Dawson, Yancey Johnson, Isis Huffman, Sherman Owens, Timeya Owens, Layla Hudson, Alena Koonce, Christopher Koonce, Jr., Al Young Jr., Albresha, Sorya and Almarion Young.  Three Great-Great-Grand Children:​Jayden David Dashiell, Talilaya Mary Dasheill, and Ariell Lynette Darlene White,  A host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gustava White and son, Charlie Lee Hudson.
