Deacon Charlie Kimble, Sr. was born January 2, 1928 in Calhoun, Mississippi to Daniel Kimble and Emily Strain. Both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charlie Kimble, Jr., five sisters and two brothers.
In 1950, he married Francis Leflora, and they moved to Missouri. After her death in 1982, he married Ida Mae Magsby, who also preceded him in death.
Charlie worked at the Caruthersville Shipyard for many years, as well as doing farm work for years. Brother Charlie accepted Christ at an early age. He joined Mt. Mariah Baptist Church in 1956, then moved his membership to Rising Star. In 1968, he joined St. John M.B. Church, where he was a faithful and dedicated member of the Deacon Board, trustees, and choir, until his health failed. He also sang with the Sweet Chariot Choir for many years, and was also a Mason.
He leaves to cherish his memory: 10 children, Earnestine Smith, Francine Kimble both of Caruthersville, Missouri, Annie (Wallace) Jones of Flint, Michigan, Emily (Joe) Moses, Charlene (Anthony) Yarbro both of Dyersburg, Tennessee, James (Laura) Kimble of Urbana, Illinois, Kevin (Zanetta) Williamson of Southaven, Mississippi, Richard (Annette) Kimble and Alex (Rosetta) Kimble both of Boonville Missouri; four sisters, Lucille Glaspie, Deyoria Glaspie, Claudean Brooks all of Mississippi and Missionary Mae Lois Moore of Mansfield, Ohio; a brother, Emmitt Daniel Kimble of Kenoshia, Wisconsin; 27 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; a niece he raised, Stella Tunstell of Chicago, Illinois; a special friend who he loved like a son, Jimmy Jackson of Caruthersville, Missouri and his home health workers, Tonya Wilson and Tina Weaver.
