Dorothy Lee Tisdell

Dorothy Lee Tisdell,  was born December 30, 1941, in Portageville,       Missouri to the late Richard and Harriett Tisdell..  She made her transition from her earthly home to her heavenly home January 24, 2018 .

She accepted Christ at an early age and was an active and dedicated member of New Bethel Church for over 45 years.  She served as church secretary along with carrying out other duties.  She assisted the youth in performing plays and helped with various church programs

She was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, Missouri with an Associate of Arts degree in Child Care and Guidance.

She was employed with the Portageville Elementary School as an assistant teacher for 17 years.  She worked for Pyramid Group and Tri-County as  Assistant Administrator, Field Supervisor, Parent Aide and Coordinator of Children Treatment Service for 15 years.  She enjoyed working in church, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren, who affectionately called he “Nanny”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Harriett Tisdell,;two brothers, Johnny Tisdell and Willie James Tisdell; two sisters, Mozell    Taylor and Lucy Tisdell.  She was the last of her siblings to depart this Earth.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Deborah Tisdell-Mosby of Portageville, Missouri and Phyllis Tisdell of Columbia Missouri; two sons, Kelvin Tisdell (Jennifer) of Blytheville, Arkansas and Keith Tisdell (Bridgechette) of Williamsburg, Virginia; four grandchildren, Terrence Tisdell and Bryson Ross of Kansas City, Missouri, Paige Dorothy Tisdell of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Kelvin Tisdell, Jr. of Blytheville, Arkansas; two great –grand children, TJ Tisdell of Kansas City, Missouri and Kairi Quarles of Virginia Beach , Virginia and a host of relatives and friends.

She was a good and faithful servant of the Lord.
