Lenwood Fields

Lenwood Fields III, fondly known as Len, was born October 24, 1956 in Hayti, MO to his adoring parents Lenwood “Mutch” Fields Jr. and Verlene “Tutter” Fields. Len was the second oldest of five children in this union. He was a busy body.

Len spent his early years in Caruthersville, MO attending Booker T. Washington Elementary School. When he was about 12 years old, the family moved to Detroit, MI, where Len attended junior high and high school in the Detroit   Public School System. Len graduated from Thomas Cooley High School in Detroit. He went on to work at the Chrysler Corporation in Trenton, MI shortly after graduation. Len would always come back to Caruthersville to visit family and to hang out with childhood friends. As the years passed on, Len decided to relocate to Memphis, TN, where he lived with welcoming cousins and dedicated his time to working at Rivermont Manor, a skilled care nursing center.

Len loved his family and loved to have a good time. He was always joking around, messing with everyone. He would start laughing before you even had a chance to humorously tell him to stop or to leave you along. He knew he was     annoying you, but lovingly kept on anyway. Len was always the life of the party, laughing, talking, and bothering all those around him. If Len was there, you definitely knew it.

Len departed his earthly life on Thursday, June 21, 2018.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Len's mother, Verlene Fields, and all four grandparents preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his daughter Chanelle Walker, his father Lenwood Fields Jr, his stepmother Doris Fields, brothers Gregory (Berniece) Fields, Steven (Pamela) Fields, Quinton (LaLisa) Fields, his sisters Beverly (Wallace) McNeal, Kathy (John) Pope, and Lenisha Fields, his aunt Margaret "Peaches" Fields, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
