Michael Lee Smith

     Michael Lee Smith was born on August 25, 1964 to the late Percy Smith and Ella Warren Waits in Hayti, Missouri.  God called him home to rest on October 5, 2016 at 8:00 a.m.

       He was the youngest of four siblings.  He was married three times, through those unions he became the father of six children. 

     He loved the outdoors and working with his hands.  He was an avid bike rider and a mentor to many young men.  He loved taking things apart and putting them back together again; because of this many trusted him as an expert mechanic.  He will be remembered as being humorous and happy.  He always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone in need.

     He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Ella M. Waits, six children, Michael L. Smith, Jr.,  Jaleel Henry, Michael D. Smith,  Marina Smith, Marquita Hollins and Martez A. Smith, two sisters, Dorothy “Faye” Holmes and Cassie (Mac) Hudson and an older brother, Earl Digby, a number grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and  friends.

     Although he will be missed, we are thankful that he is now at peace and absent of pain.
