Mr. Alfred Lee Bogan was born on October 23, 1946, in Youngstown, Ohio to William Herman and Ethel Marie Bogan. He departed this life Sunday, July 21, 2024, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ethel Bogan, four brothers, Herman, Wesley, Marvin, and Eddie Bogan and one grandson, Aaron Joshua Hendrickson and one great granddaughter, Autumn Joy Wilson.
He was a 1965 graduate of the Negro Central High School in Hayti. Missouri. In 1968 he was drafted into the United States Army where he was deployed to Vietnam. Years later he was discharged as an Honorable Member of the United States Army.
In 1997 Alfred was baptized as a Jehovah Witness. Brother Alfred loved attending meetings at the Kingdom Hall. Witnessing to everyone about the bible no matter their race or age along with his Spiritual Family was his heart’s desire.
Matthew 24:14 And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all inhabited earth for a witness to all of the nations, and then the end will come.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and cherished memories that will be carried in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Alfred leaves to cherish his memories, beloved wife, Mary of the home, Jacquelyn (Billy), Tracey, Alfred (Renee), Alfridge (Shannell), Alexander, Mariea, Jeffrey (Kim), Aljanaione, Raefael (Quonisia). Deetra, Scotty, Nicholle (Tyrone), James (Susie), Alfonzo (Dedria), and Christina were all reared successfully by Alfred as they called him, Dad. Siblings, Joyce (Henry), Kenneth (Evelyn), Linda, Brenda, Kathy and Anthony (Nichol) and a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one who he nurtured with his wife, A’lanii Promise, cousins, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
