Reflection of Life
Betty Delores Toles was born on February 14, 1948, in Hayti, Missouri, to her parents Ira Walker and Wilma Lee Toles. She moved from Caruthersville, Missouri, to Chicago, Illinois, in January of 1964. Shortly after, she trekked to the Big Apple (New York) in August 1964.
Betty entered her servitude to Jehovah when she was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1975. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her love for acts of service to the world spanned over 40 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Along with her devotion to care for others, her aspiration to be an interior decorator, coupled with her fashion moxie, were always exhibited throughout her homes and multitude of designer outfits. She was an avid reader and also a prominent member of the City of Caruthersville Library Board.
Betty entered her eternal sleep on the evening of March 25th, 2025 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee. She has reunited with family members who preceded her in death: father Ira Walker, mother Wilma Lee Toles, and one sister, Brenda Williams.
She is survived by her two sons: Ira Toles Sr. and Tomi (Shurla) Toles Sr.; five sisters: Gwendolyn Webster, Rita (Arthur) Gorman, Sharon (Darryl) Young, Annette (Larry) Griffin, and Carolyn Harris; three brothers: Larry Toles, Kerry (Lorraine) Williams, and Rodney (Carol) Williams Sr.; five grandchildren: Shavon Toles and Tomi Toles Jr., Zora Toles, Protea Toles, and Ira Toles Jr.; three great-grandchildren: Liam, Avione and Avianna; a myriad of nieces, nephews, and extended family; and her cherished friends Eula Harris, Evelyn Remy, Christina Raphael, Kim Blair, and Marie Homer.
She has garnered the respect and love of family and friends throughout her fruitful odyssey of life through her faith and servitude to others. Betty has forever impacted the lives of all who have encountered her, and her legacy will eternally thrive in our hearts and souls as we continue to walk our paths to our ultimate destination.
We all love and miss you dearly.
