Booker T. Royal

Mr. Booker T. Royal was born January 26, 1939 to Ollie Royal and Lillie C (Davis-Royal) Logan in Morrulton, AR. He departed this life May 14, 2014 in Indianapolis, IN.

Booker was united in holy matrimony to Rachel A. Mack, December 30, 1965, who preceded him in death. To that union one son Ricky L. (Donita) Royal of Indianapolis, IN; four daughters, Wanda (William) Torres, Theresa (Byron) Thomas, Melissa Royal of Gary, IN; Brenda T. (Everoll) Royal-Dixon of Indianapolis, IN were born. Booker had two other sons, Kevin Jones of Hayti, MO and Daren K. Jones of Toledo, OH.

Loving family members who survive to cherish Booker's memory include his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law: Lucy Royal and Lucinda Royal, a great friend, Robert Lane and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Booker joined the United States Army in 1962 and received an honorable discharge. He was emplyed over 20 years at Inland (LTV) Steel in Gary, IN where he retired in 1988. Booker returned to Hayti, MO where he was a community activist and owned several small businesses.

He was preceded in death by his faithful wife Mrs. Rachel Anna (Mack) Royal; both parents, Ollie and Lillie C (Davis-Royal) Logan; two sisters Marvell Royal and Nellie Ree (Royal) Mack; three brothers, Clifton Royal, James Royal, William "Jack" Royal; a sister-in-law, Jessie "Jill" Royal; four brothers-in-law, Lawrence Boone, Forest Kincade, Robert "Bob" Walker and Willie Tyus.
