Charles Rutherford Davis was born November 30, 1941 in Osceola, Arkansas to Samuel Davis and Leatrice Davis. They both preceded him in death. He departed this life February 6, 2020 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age, and rededicated his life to Christ December 10, 2019. He graduated from High School in Osceola, Arkansas, after graduation he joined the United States Armed Forces. Later he attended and graduated from Diesel Truck Driving School. He was a Professional Driver for 42 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife for 18 years, Helen Davis of Hayti, Missouri; one daughter Lisa (Rickey) Oliver of Hayti, Missouri; four step-children, Anthony Oliver of St. Louis, Missouri, Kevin Oliver of Hayti, Missouri, Michael Oliver of San Antonio, Texas, Jennifer (Thomas) Townson of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Samuel Davis, Jr. (Deborah) of Atlanta, Georgia; three sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Bell of Tucson, Arizona, Marie Sellers and Essie West both of St. Louis, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
