Deborah Louise Leatherwood was born February 17, 1953 to the late William Leatherwood and Mattie Davis of Caruthersville, Missouri. Deborah graduated from Caruthersville High School. Deborah received her spiritual guidance at Pentecostal Power Church under the leadership of the late Bishop James Lane.
Deborah worked as a daycare worker at the Community Center and retired to open her own daycare out of her home.
Deborah had many nicknames Lil Head, Madea, Deb, Buckwheat or Debbie just to name a few. Deborah loved watching tv especially her western movies. If you came in her home it was dark, hot, and on her shows and you better not say anything about turning on her tv. Deborah loved spending time with family and friends. If you knew Deborah you knew she loved to cuss you out and drink her Bush beer. If Deborah loved you or even liked you, you gained a best friend.
On September 11, 2020 Deborah gained her wings. She will precede in death with her special friend the late Jimmy Springer, grandson Willis Leatherwood, her mom Mattie Davis, her biological father William Leatherwood, sisters Vivian Whitfield, Tina Wiley, brother Carl Wiley.
Deborah leaves to mourn and cherish her memories: her loving father William Davis, her loving sisters Linda Williams, Sonya Prather (Jacob) Felicia Wiley, Leticia Wiley, Bridget Kuykendoll (Verdia) Micikater Wiley her loving brothers Lonnie Wiley David Wiley (Diane) Undra Wiley (Johnette) Crozet Wiley (Jackie) her loving children Michael Leatherwood (Fleuretta) of Caruthersville, MO, Marvina Smith (Charles) of Nashville, TN, Anitra Leatherwood (Palmer) of Caruthersville, MO, Rachael Waddell (Sean) of Nashville, TN, LaShonda Leatherwood of Caruthersville, MO Christina Leatherwood (Timothy) of Caruthersville, MO, and Mathis Crenshaw-Anderson of Caruthersville, MO. Grandkids: Zonisha Carter, Courtney Leech, Kierra Guyton, Michael Leech, Kolonda Jones, Kierra Hunt, Gary Gale Jr, Tamaja West, Angel West, Talmadge West Jr. Phillip Smith, Sharmaine Smith, Moneka Smith, Demetris Smith, LaShawn Smith, Lawrence Smith, Raquel Smith, Lanisha Carter, Steve Carter Jr., Tiazayh Leatherwood, Jakayla Shepherd, Curtis Covington, Nicole Davis, Nicholas Davis Jr. Deandre Davis, Desmond Davis, and Aliyah Brown, 27 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and special friends.
