Dorothy (Formon) Winda

DOROTHY MAE WINDA was born in Marianna, Arkansas on March 20, 1926 to the late Ben Foreman and Elizabeth Spencer.

She confessed her belief in Christ at a very young age.  She was a devoted Baptist and faithful member of Mt. Olive Church in Penjure, Arkansas.

Our Beloved Mother was united into marriage to the late John Winda, Sr. (JW) who preceded her in death on July 17, 1983.  They were married for 43 years.  They lived in Hughes, Arkansas where they resided most of their lives and to this union 8 children were born.

Our Beloved Mother entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 1:00 a.m. at Mercy Villa Nursing Home, Springfield, Missouri.  Besides her parents and husband; she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lee Davis of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Our Beloved Mother was our "Super Mom"; her cherishable memories will live forever within her seven children; five daughters: Jerrie Wright and Johnnie Mae "Randy" Haley of Springfield, Missouri, Ida Pearl (Troy) Braussard of Hughes, Arkansas, Mary Jane Eason of Memphis, Tennessee, and Horice "Jean" (Alvin) Sheard of Caruthersville, Missouri; two sons: John "Herbert" Winda, Jr. and Herbert "Cecil" (Marla Horton) Winda of Springfield, Missouri; three sisters: Gracie Broadnax of Memphis, Tennessee, Betty Jean Tripplett of West Memphis, Arkansas, and Mattie Banks of Chicago, Illinois; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
