Welcome to the memorial page for

Gloria Jean Prow

May 5, 1959 ~ May 26, 2015 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Gloria Jean Prow was born on May 5, 1959 to Josie Mae Prow in Steele, Missouri. When her mother passed away, Gloria was 8 years old. Her aunt, Willie Mae Pulliam and late uncle, Elder John Willie Pulliam raised Gloria and her five siblings in their home. Gloria became very ill with kidney failure when she was just a teen. But having kidney dialysis three days a week, four hours a day did not deter her from completing high school and going on to receive two degrees and special certification from St. Louis Community College. Gloria became a certified Dental Assistant, certified Medical Assistant, and a certified Phlebotomist.

Kennett was always home for Gloria. And her home church was Victory Temple COGIC. She moved to St. Louis in 1990 and became a member of Williams Temple COGIC for 25 years. During these years she attended the young women's Sunday School class, sang in the church choir, and began "cooking" her way into the hearts of her Williams Temple family. Gloria knew that she wanted to see God's face in peace, and so she began to seek Him with her whole heart. Though her physical body was failing, she knew that God would never fail her.

The "International Nanny" is what our family called Gloria. Why? Because she helped raise most of her nieces and nephews! Gloria was the one who happily traveled to be with that new mother in the family to teach her a few things and to care for the newest bundle in the family. That's how much Gloria enjoyed life! She still had struggles with her health, but she NEVER let her circumstances get her down, and she never wanted pity from anybody. She just wanted to be a help to you and a friend as well. That's why Gloria truly "never met a person that she didn't like". If you were down in spirit (or not), when you came around Gloria, you were soon bursting with laughter. She was the BEST: MOTHER, SISTER, NIECE and FRIEND any of us could have ever had. Her jovial personality, her warmth, and her willingness to always help someone else was unfailing.

Gloria was preceded in death by her mother, Josie Mae Prow, her uncle who raised her, Elder John Willie Pulliam, Sr. and four natural and extended brothers, David Lee, Joe Willie, John Jr., and Jimmy Lee.

Gloria leaves to mourn: her son, Geoffrey Denzel Prow, her closest sister Betty (Jonathan) Bell both of St. Louis, MO; her Aunt Willie Mae Pulliam of Kennett, MO; sisters both natural and extended: Charlie Mae Magnussen of Kansas City, MO; Mildred (Earl) Whitehorn; Henrietta Wright, Hester (Nathaniel) Ellis; Luetta Pulliam and Lillie (Eddie) Blackman, all of Kennett, MO; Brothers both natural and extended: Russell Prow of Kansas City, MO; Robert (Evelyn) Pulliam of Kennett, MO; Lawrence (Angela) Pulliam and Dennis (Brenda) Pulliam both of Jacksonville, FL; Ronnie (Karen) Pulliam of Indianapolis, IN; and Pete (Rita) Pulliam of Olathe, KS; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

To all who knew and loved Gloria, we would have to agree that she was Someone Special!
