James Calvin Sims was born on May 13, 1985 to Miles Brown Sr. and Jeanetta Fisher-Brown in Detroit, MI. He was raised in Homestown, Mo. He attended the North Pemiscot School System with graduation in 2004. He attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Cape Girardeau, Mo. James was known as a Jack of all trades having worked in various occupations such as auto repair and computer programming.
James never met a stranger and greeted all with an easy genuine and reassuring smile. His friendliness and devotion endeared him to have many lifelong friends. Known affectionately by his family and friends as Leroy, he was a loyal father, son, grandson, brother, nephew and cousin leaving in the wake of his departure many who will dearly miss him.
James departed this life on January 23, 2020 having an intact legacy that includes the love of his life, his daughter Azlee Sims of Hayti, MO. He is also survived by his mom Jeanetta Brown of Cape Girardeau, Mo, his father Miles Brown Sr. (Patty McCullom) of Homestown Mo, brothers Bobby Eugene Fisher of Dyersburg, TN, Miles Brown Jr. & Ryan Lee of Homestown, Mo, Duane Irvin Smith Jr. of Jonesboro, Ar, Kedeem McCullom of Paragould, Ar, Douglass Mitchell of Kennett, Mo, Jesse- Rico Fane of Irving, Tx, Wesley Fane of Columbia, Mo, and Dejuan Fane of Dyersburg, TN. His sisters Janice Scales of Memphis, Tn, Jasmine Fisher of Kennett, Mo, Ashley Reeves of Dallas, Tx, Jalisa Edwards & Teishyana Moore of Kennett, Mo, Tracy Moore, Monique Williams of Detroit Mi, Denisha Brown and Starrina Brown of Detroit Mi. His girlfriend Jennifer Frazier of Homestown, Mo. Also mourning his loss is a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Missionary Azlee Taylor-Morris and Lucille Thomas, grandfather James Taylor Sr, Siblings Diana Brown Myles Brown, and Jamar Reedus.
