Jessie B. Williams (Buckner), was born June 3, 1942 to the late O.B. Carter and Annie Mae Carter in Yalobusha, MS. She departed this life on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 11:38 a.m. in her home.
She confessed hope in Christ at the age of 15 and joined Zion Hill Baptist Church in Senatobia, MS. Later, her family moved to Nesbit, MS. Jessie married George Lee Buckner of Memphis, TN in 1960 and to this union was born six children: two daughters and 4 sons. She is currently married to Dave Williams of Caruthersville, MO.
She was a faithful member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and well respected throughout the community. She was a dedicated member to Old Ship of Zion. Jessie was , also, a member of the Civitan, an organization that helps people in the community when in need. She received many recognition pendants and plaques. We will miss you Muh, Mother, Momma, Sis, Jessie, Aunt B, Grandmother, Ms. Jessie, Couz, Ms. Williams, and a myriad of names for someone so loved.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, O.B. Carter and Annie Mae Davis; two sisters: Elnora Willingham and Gracie Carter.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Dave Williams of Caruthersville, MO; two daughters: Annette (James) Hunter of Caruthersville, MO and Shirlean (Henry) Walker of Memphis, TN; four sons: Earl Buckner of Cincinnati, OH, George Wesley (Dana) Buckner of Killeen, TX, Nathan Buckner of Cincinnati, OH, and Kenneth Ray Buckner (Sharon Woods) of Memphis, TN; one sister, Georgia Carter of Memphis, TN; one sister-in-law, Lula Mae Buckner of Memphis, TN; two brothers-in-law, Nathanial Buckner and O.B. Buckner both of Memphis, TN; one great aunt, Josephine Talbert of Tillatoba, MS; seventeen grandchildren: Jessica, Steve, Olijuwan, Whitney, Alexia, Kenneth Jr., Marquez, Cameron, Jennifer, Earl Jr., Semetress, Tia, Brandon, Nick, Jaxson, Maxwell, and Adrian; two great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
