Luther McGee

Luther (LT) McGee SR. was born on November 6th 1929, to the late A.J. McGee and Mittie Williams in Itta Bena, Mississippi. He departed this life on January 5, 2016.

LT was raised by his grandparents, Hosea and Mary McGee in Morgan CIty and Mossy Island, Mississippi where he also attended R.B. Schlater School System. He later married Cora Mae Cannon, and to this union 3 children were born.

Many years later LT moved to Hayti, Missouri and joined St. James Word of Faith Church, where he was a faithful member of the Men's Dept. until his health began to fail.

LT was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers: Erise Williams, James Williams, Robert Lee Williams, W.T. Williams JR. and Frank Williams. Four sisters: Mary Williams, Daisy Williams, Lela Williams Starks and Ethel Williams.

LT leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Luther (Dorothy) McGee of Sandusky, Ohio; Gloria (Eric) Holmes and Albert McGee; all of Hayti, MO.

Sisters: Lizzie Mae McGee, Cleveland, MS.; Tommie Pearl Gamble (Clauzel) Itta Bena, MS.; Fannie Harmon, Annie Bell Foster of Greenville, MS.; Alberta Thomas, Mittie Moore, of Davenport Iowa.; Josephine (Arthur) Johnson; Viola (Willie) McCaskill, Iola York, Maggie Angel, Lucy (Mickey) Page all of Itta Bena, MS.

Brothers: R.C. McGee, Frazier McGee of Cleeland, MS.; Booker T. (Cora) Williams, Greenville, MS.; Jack (Lessie) Williams, of Chicago, IL; Willie (Celia) Williams, of Starkville, MS.

A Host of: Grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
