Mae Vinny (Winters) Johnson

Mae (Milvinia) Vinny Johnson was born on November 28, 1938 in Tchula, Mississippi to the late Robert Winters and Ira Williams.  She departed this life on August 17, 2015 at Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  She will be dearly missed.

       She confessed a hope in Christ and joined Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend H. L. Taylor.  She loved to sing and sang with the Gospel Lites , Old Ship of Zion Broadcast for many years and also was a member of Bootheel Ladies Civitan Club.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one daughter, two brothers Willie Lee Hollins and John Henry Winters, two sisters, O’Shelleree (Polly) Price and Maragret Hollins, one grandson, a devoted step-father, Leon (Po Chop) Williams and a special friend Arthur (Cosmo) Cole.

     She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Larry Johnson and Billy Johnson, Sr. both of Caruthersville, Missouri; two sisters: Rosie Ford of Caruthersville, Missouri and Annie Davis of Chicago, Illinois; two brothers: Robert Hollins of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Robert Winters, Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; one great aunt, Ola Mae (Teddy) Farmer of Kennett, Missouri, one special nephew Michael Smith of Kennett, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
