Mary Francis Agnew, was born March 4, 1943 ,to John Agnew, Sr. and Lillie D. Rowe. She was the seventh child of fourteen,. She departed this life February 18, 2021 at River Oaks Care Center, Steele, Missouri.
She professed her life to Christ at an early age under Reverend Bell at Golden Light M.B. Church and later she joined Mt. Carmel M.B. Church where she was the financial secretary and a member of the usher board.
Mary attended the Chute Sixteen School and was a graduate of the class of 1962 at Washington High School in Caruthersville, Missouri. She was employed at Brown Shoe Company until it closed.
Mary (sometimes called Baby Doll) was a very devoted daughter, sister and aunt. Her family meant the world to her. She loved baking the desserts for family reunions and making cookies for her nephews. She was also a great seamstress and loved gardening. As a caregiver she helped to care for her mother, Lillie D and brother, William Henry. She also helped to raise her nephew Billy Langford who lived with her several years.
She was preceded in death by both parents, John Agnew, Sr. and Lillie D. Rowe, three sisters, Juanita, Goldie and Ernestine and three brothers, John Agnew, Jr., Freddie and Jimmie Ray.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving nephew, Billy Langford who she treated as a son; two sisters, Addie B. Foreman of Caruthersville, MO and Dorothy Sheard of Dayton, Ohio; five brothers, Roosevelt Agnew and William Agnew both of Caruthersville, MO, Jackie Agnew of Shreveport, LA, Richard (Jean) Agnew, Charles (Eunice) Agnew both of Anderson, IN ; one sister-in-law, Leola Agnew of Caruthersville, MO and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
