Mary Ann (Cartwright) Cagle

Mary Ann Scott Cartwright Cagle was born October 21, 1950 in Caruthersville, MO to Albert Williams and Ina Mae Jacoway Atchison and was the 3rd of 14 children.  She departed this life on September 8, 2014 (4:43 A.M.) at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital with her sisters by her side.

She was married on January 28, 1972 to Thurman Cagle, Jr. and to this marriage was born 7 children.

Mary attended Washington Elementary and High School.  She graduated with the Class of 1968 at Caruthersville High School.  Mary was enlisted in the United States Army upon graduation.  She was Caruthersville Head Start Assistant from 1998 through 2004.  Mary was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), poet,  and writer.  She was a faithful wife and  loving person.

She was preceded in death by  Albert Williams, Ina Mae Jacoway; her parents: Willie Cartwright and Anna Lattimore Cartwright; two sisters: Alice F. Hollywood and ThyLithia Atchison; and two brothers William McMillion II and Freginald Atchison.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her husband, Thurman Cagle, Jr.; seven children: Anissa Cagle Robinson, Charles Anthony Cagle, Tamara Renee Cagle, Timothy Jerome Cagle, La Shawnda Cagle, Marcus Cagle, and Nicholas (Temekia) Cagle; one step-son: Jermaine Finder; nine siblings: Genean (Terry) Long, Pearlie Mae (Roy) Williams, Barbara Jean (Tee W.) Rodgers, Gregory A. Cartwright, Regina Law Smith, Brenda Williams, Thea Hawkins, Antonio Kellybrew, Reginald Atchison; twenty grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a dear mother-in-law: Mae Ella Cagle; nine brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, and countless cousins and friends.

Venture into the world with knowledge and a passion for life.  Don’t wait for people to hand you anything for you will be disappointed and forever wanting and never receiving .
