Mary Lee Rodgers Jenkins was born July 14, 1938 at state line in Blytheville, Arkansas to Nannie Agnew and James Edward Rodgers. She attended church at Mt. Moriah in Blytheville, Arkansas. Her education was at Washington High School in Caruthersville, MO.
Mary had 12 children, Gwen Rodgers, Danny Bailey, Michael Bailey, after marrying Leroy Jenkins nine more children were born, Lois Rodgers, Armer Rodgers, Angela Green, Patricia Rodgers, Leroy Jenkins, Jr., James Rodgers, Phillip Rodgers, Stephen Rodgers and Carl Rodgers. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. She loved her grandchildren as if they were her own. Mary loved spending time with her family and friends making memories that will last a lifetime. She was loved and respected throughout Caruthersville. She never met a stranger, she was always the shoulder you could lean on. Just one encounter with her will brighten your day.
Her hobbies was gardening, preserving vegetables and fruit. She also worked at the Tipton Box Factory. In her past time, she liked to drive and celebrate different events.
Mary departed this life August 6, 2021 at 2:45 a.m. at St. Claire Hospital in Fenton, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Jenkins, Sr., her son, Phillip Rodgers, Sr., her parents Nannie Agnew and James Edward Rodgers, her siblings, Geneva Portwood, James F. Rodgers, Ida Mae Rodgers, Danny Rodgers and Saddie Rodgers.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory: her siblings, Juanita Rodgers, Tee Willie Rodgers, Nannette Rodgers; her children, Gwen (Tim Donner) Rodgers, Lois Rodgers, Armer Rodgers, Angela Green, (Sammy), Patricia Rodgers, Danny Bailey, Michael Bailey, Leroy Jenkins, Jr., James Rodgers, Phillip Rodgers, Stephen Rodgers and Carl Rodgers.
She leaves a legacy behind of 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild , a host off nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a very special friend Carl Lee Williams.
