Richard Edward Palmer was born June 25, 1964 in Caruthersville, Missouri to the late Pauline Palmer Wright and Richard Mathis.
He attended Caruthersville High School, where he played and took the football team to State in 1980. He graduated in 1982, and confessed a hope in Christ at an early age , under the leadership of Pastor Mosed Black at the Greater Mt. Carmel M.B. Church in Caruthersville, Missouri.
Richard was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and will be missed dearly.
Richard Palmer was called to his reward on Monday, July 19, 2021 at his home in Michigan City, Indiana. Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Palmer Wright and brother, Gregory Palmer.
He leaves to cherish: his father, Richard (Sharon) Mathis of Gary, Indiana; two daughters, Latoya Parnell of Wichita Falls, Texas, Deidre Lynn Palmer of Aurora, Illinois and one son, Ranier Palmer of Gary, Indiana; his brothers, Paul Roy (Thelma) Palmer and Torrance Wright both of Houston, Texas and Douglas Palmer of Caruthersville, Missouri and Willie Wright, Jr. of Hayti, Missouri, one brother on his dad's side and two brothers on his step dad's side; his sisters, Karen Palmer of Caruthersville, Missouri, Jessica Palmer of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Ivory Isom of Caruthersville, Missouri, Marilyn and Patricia Wright of Phoenix, Arizona, Ora Allen of West Memphis, Arkansas and Renee Hollywood of Hayti, Missouri and a host of uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a special friend Mary Howell.
