Sara Ross Manuel was born to the late T.B. Ross and Mary Ann Ross in Holland, Missouri
On June 23, 1978, in Caruthersville, Missouri Sara married her late husband Ulysses Manuel, and both together raised three beautiful children, Anthony Bernard Rogers, Shalawnda Manuel and Ulysses Manuel, Jr. Caruthersville, Missouri remained home to her until sunset.
In 1978, Sara became an active member of Old Landmark True Church of Christ the Divine of Caruthersville, Missouri under the leadership of the late Bishop C. Mitchell and current Bishop F. Mitchell located in Union City, Tennessee. Sister Sara Manuel served faithfully as a Head Cook and a Missionary for many years. Sister Manuel was faithful to this ministry for 43 years.
Sara's love for cooking and serving others will forever remain in the hearts of those that encountered her. Well known for making the following signature dishes, tasty cornbread dressing, moist pound cake, succulent caramel cake, sweet potato pie, pecan pie and Hawaiian dream cake. Those signature dishes will forever remain on the taste buds of those that sampled it.
Sara's love for her three children was to death and beyond. She would often say, "if I had one biscuit left, I would starve, and share it amongst my children".
Left to cherish fond memories are devoted and loving children, Anthony Bernard Rogers (Terrance), Shalawnda Manuel Wickware (Jerod) and Ulysses Manuel, Jr. (Bridget), three grandchildren, Anthony Bernard Rogers, Jr.(Brianna), Adrian (Sabre) Rogers, and Ulysses Manuel III, three great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and a host of other relatives.
