Reflections of Life
Theodore “Meat” Hall was born May 26, 1937 in Minter City, Mississippi. At a very early age he worked in the cotton fields and the sawmills. He didn’t like what was going on in the South, so he left in 1956 and went north to Caruthersville, Missouri to live with his Uncle Oggie, later moving to Clarksdale, Mississippi. In 1957 he moved to Chicago, Illinois and was able to get a job at a hotel and later General Motors, where he worked faithfully for 31 years before retiring.
In 1971 he met and married Ollie McDonald who proceeded him in death.
He later reunited with his sweetheart of many years, Pearl Williams and they were married on May 28, 2022.
Meat was known for his basement parties, with Christmas lights that flashed to the beat of the blues, his favorite music. He was often joined by his nephew Willie Hall, who will cherish the fond memories of their time there together.
Theodore Hall departed this life on May 15, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wille and Mary Hall; his wife Ollie Hall; a brother Fred (Blundell) Hall; a sister Idella Banks and one grandson, P.W. Hill, III.
