Tyra Boyd Obituary

August 16, 1991 was a day of rejoicing for Tyrone and Beverly Boyd.  It was the day they gave birth to their 8 pound, beautiful baby girl, Tyra Shanae Boyd, who brought such joy to their lives.  Tyra, also known as her momma's "Lady Bug", was an easy child to raise and growing up, she welcomed advice from her parents who always encouraged her to be a respectful and obedient young lady.  She loved her parents and brother deeply and strived to make them proud.

At an early age, Tyra was baptized and recently joined St. Paul Baptist Church in East St. Louis, Illinois where she professed her belief in Christ.  Tyra was a spiritual, kind, and loving person with a big heart.

In 2009, Tyra graduated from Collinsville High School and joined the Navy.  However, she was medically discharged, but she didn't stop there.  She decided to further her education and attended Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) in Belleville, Illinois where she studied to become an e-ray technician.

Tyra's personality was "Bright" and she lit up the atmosphere wherever she went.  She was a very colorful person and even when she wasn't feeling well, she always seemed to wear a smile.  Tyra was a human magnet and her character attracted people of all kinds. Her sweet and loving traits left no room for questioning and showed absolutely no partiality.  Not only did she love life, she also loved cats, crushed ice, seafood boil with spicy seasoning, candy, frozen fruits, and lets not forget, Chris Brown.

Tyra was highly blessed and favored to bring life into this world a beautiful baby boy name Jayce Tyrone Boyd, her "Toot-Toot".  He was born January 6, 2017 whom she loved with all her heart.

On the morning of January 23, 2020, God called Tyra home.  She walked with Christ into a pasture of no pain, no suffering, and a Heavenly place where there is only peace and everlasting life.

Proceeding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Ulisses and Alberta Luster, her paternal grandparents, Pervis and Henrietta Boyd, and her never forgetting and always loving cousin and best friend, Pearlice Gwendolyn Squire.

Leaving to cherish her loving memories are her son, Jayce Tyrone Boyd and her parents, Tyrone and Beverly Boyd, all of Swansea, Illinois, her brother, Marcus Tyrone (her sister-in-love Ellen), niece Myla, and nephew Mars Boyd of St. Petersburg, Florida, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other close family and friends.  Last, but certainly not least, her God-Daddy, Harvey Pratcher, who, in her eyes, could do NO WRONG.  In conclusion, we acknowledge her aunt/second mother Mayquilla "Mae Mae" Squire and Bentley, her Godmothers, Belinda Whitehorn Taylor and Linda McLinn, and best friend, Tim,eal Moody and Roderick.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
