Willie James Harris was born January 12, 1945 to the late Mary Foster and Matthew Harris in Itta Bena, Mississippi. He departed this life on May 10, 2026 at the age of 81.
Willie will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering strength. He found joy singing and entertaining people with his gift of music. When Willie wasn’t working tearing down houses, hauling and various jobs, he enjoyed quiet time riding in his truck or enjoying western movies on TV.
Willie was preceded in death by his Parents; Grandparents, Robert and Estella Foster; his Wife, Pauline Harris; his Son, Andrea Wiley; his daughter, Mossa Harris; three Brothers: Sammie Lee Harris, Matthew Harris, and Korvell Hollingworth; and his Sister, Rosie Wooden.
Willie, also known as “James Brown Willie” will truly be missed by all who knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory his Brother, Eugene (Marietta) Harris; his Daughters: Shavetta Whitfield, Shongka Abraham, Spirit Carter, and Mae Lee Harris; a number of Stepchildren; a host of Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Cousins, and other Relatives and many friends.
