Willie L Johnson

Willie L. Johnson, was born on June 8, 1955 in Hayti, MO to the late I. J. and Grace Johnson.  He departed this life on December 19, 2014 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL  On July 31, 1977, he was joined in holy matrimony to Drusilla Mack and four children were born to this union. 

     Willie was preceded in death by his parents, I. J. and Grace Johnson; two brothers: Samuel Andrew Johnson, Sr. and Robert “Big Bob” Johnson; and one sister: Mary Frances Brown.

     He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Drusilla Johnson of Chicago, IL; his children: Andre Johnson, Kashif Johnson, Summer Johnson, Michael Johnson all of  Chicago, IL, and Damion Wilson of Caruthersville, MO; eight siblings: Ceolar D. Johnson-Jones of Grand Rapids, MI, Mary Ella Johnson-Jones of Memphis, TN, Gloria N. Johnson-Blackmon of Poplar Bluff, MO, Laura A. Johnson-Jackson of Hayti, MO, Timothy C. Johnson of Gahanna, OH, Rose S. Johnson of West Memphis, AR, Thomas L. Johnson of Alpharetta, GA, and Patria E. Johnson of Memphis, TN; three aunts: Georgia E. Jones of Ripley, TN, Ola Mae Johnson of Hennings, TN, and Virgie M. (L. D.) Pulliam of Kennett, MO; and eight grandchildren: Damian Wilson, Jr., Damiante Wilson, Devin Wilson, Damouj Wilson, Damianne Wilson, and Dankqwon Wilson all of Caruthersville, MO, Nayla Johnson and Elijah Johnson both of Chicago, IL; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

       Those who knew him will remember him for his cool and outgoing demeanor.  He had great love and affection for family and friends.  Even until the last days of his life, he held close to the teaching of his late Mother, Grace Johnson about the redeeming and saving grace of Jesus Christ.
